In today's academic landscape, there is a pressing
need to foster a culture of fearless pursuit of knowledge, all
within the framework of ethical and legal principles. Transitioning
from mere knowledge to innovative endeavours is greatly facilitated
by the establishment of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell.
This was underscored by Prof.PrabuddhaGanguli in his 2003 lecture at
the University of Bhavnagar titled "Ad(d)venture with Knowledge....
Stepping ahead with Intellectual Property Rights," part of UGC's
Golden Jubilee Lecture Series. This emphasizes the importance of
legal frameworks that support innovation, ensuring rightful
ownership of knowledge, promoting sharing and rejuvenation, and
facilitating fair distribution of benefits. It is imperative to
recognize and address these issues in endeavours driven by
knowledge. The IPR Cell at Govt. General Degree College, Ranibandh,
is actively engaged in conducting sensitization programs aimed at
raising awareness among stakeholders regarding these critical
concerns.
