Backward Class (SC/ST/OBC) and Minority Cell
Government General Degree College, Ranibandh, nestled in the ST belt,
exemplifies its commitment to the Indian Constitution by ensuring equitable
access to higher education for underprivileged groups, such as SCs, STs,
OBCs, and Minorities. Through the establishment of the Backward Class Cell,
the college aims to empower and assist students from these communities, in
accordance with constitutional mandates like Article 340, Article 29, and
Article 30. By actively sourcing support from various avenues and promoting
participation in career orientation initiatives, the college fosters
comprehensive growth and informed career decision-making among its students.

Objectives:
The primary objective of the Backward Class Cell is to address and resolve
all affairs and issues concerning SC, ST, OBC and
Minority students of the college. Specific objectives include:
1.
Managing all affairs related to SC, ST, OBC and
Minority students.
2.
Raising awareness among SC, ST, OBC and Minority
students about various scholarship programs offered by the State
Government, Government of India, UGC, DST, and other NGOs and agencies.
Activities:
The Backward Class Cell engages in various activities to fulfil its
objectives, including:
1.
Communicating with students and motivating them for future planning and
career opportunities.
2.
Distributing timely observations and directives from the State Government
and UGC regarding SC, ST, OBC and Minority
communities.
3.
Informing students about available scholarships and fellowships.
4.
Providing assistance to SC, ST, and OBC and
Minority students facing personal, social, economic, or educational
challenges.
