Our Journey:

The Department of Santali at Government General Degree College at Ranibandh, started its journey in 2015 under the affiliation of Burdwan University, offering both Honours and General courses in Santali. After that, the affiliation was shifted to Bankura University in 2017 under the CBCS choice-based credit system, offering the same courses as mentioned above, and at present have joined under NEP 2020 education policy from 2023 with introducing Major, Minor, and Multidisciplinary courses, in Santali language and olchiki script as per Bankura University guideline.

The Santali department is a vibrant department dedicated to the knowledge and fostering creative thinking hope of the Santali language, literature, and traditional social culture. The Santali department boasts experienced and dedicated two faculty members, who are committed to providing comprehensive high-quality education in the Santali language, and they are also committed to providing personalized support and guidance with monitoring mentorship to students, both on and off campus.

• Santali Honours and Programme Courses were introduced after the introduction of CBCS curriculum in 2017 and still this courses are running.
• As per NEP 2020, Santali Major, Santali Minor and Santali Multidisciplinary courses has been started from the academic year 2023-2024.
