The Department of Sanskrit has started its journey with the U.G. Honours & General course in 2015 under The University of Burdwan from 2015. The affiliation of our college was shifted to Bankura University from Academic Session 2017-18. Currently, the Department is supported by three full-time teachers who uphold its tradition and reputation. The department is well-resourced, boasting a comprehensive collection of books and providing a serene environment that fosters both learning and teaching.

In the Academic Year 2017-18, CBCS system was introduced by Bankura University. The department offers a diverse array of academic programs, including the Undergraduate Honours Course, the Undergraduate Programme in Sanskrit. In the Academic Session 2023-2024, NEP 2020 was introduced. These courses are designed to cater to various levels of interest and specialization in Sanskrit. The department’s affiliation with Bankura University ensures that these courses adhere to rigorous academic standards, providing students with a robust and well-rounded education in Sanskrit. This comprehensive approach equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing them for further academic pursuits or professional careers in the field.
